Course Description

PRIMARY 4 SOCIAL STUDIES course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of key social studies concepts at the primary level. Through engaging lessons and interactive activities, students will explore various topics such as geography, history, culture, and citizenship. This course aims to develop critical thinking skills, promote cultural awareness, and foster a sense of global citizenship. Course Outline: PRIMARY 4 SOCIAL STUDIES I. Introduction to Social Studies (1 week) - Definition and purpose of Social Studies - Importance of Social Studies in primary education - Overview of the Primary 4 Social Studies curriculum II. Our Community (3 weeks) - Understanding the concept of community - Identifying different types of communities (rural, urban, suburban) - Exploring the roles and responsibilities of individuals within a community - Studying the features and characteristics of our local community III. Our Nation (4 weeks) - Understanding the concept of a nation - Learning about the history and development of our country - Exploring the cultural diversity and traditions within our nation - Studying the symbols and landmarks that represent our nation IV. Our World (4 weeks) - Understanding the concept of globalization - Exploring different countries and continents - Learning about the physical features and natural resources of different regions - Studying the cultural practices and traditions of different societies V. Our Environment (3 weeks) - Understanding the importance of taking care of the environment - Learning about the different ecosystems and their components - Exploring the impact of human activities on the environment - Studying ways to promote environmental sustainability VI.
